Local Lifestyle
Deerfield is a strong residential area with few commercial businesses and a major focus on a small-town feel. The community enjoys a private setting with farmhouses sprinkled throughout the town. The Deerfield Fair is a big draw to the area. It is one of the largest fairs in the entire state of New Hampshire and brings in patrons from all over. Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping There are several established restaurants in Deerfield that diners can frequent. The Lazy Lion is a town favorite. This American restaurant serves housemade chili, wings, cottage pie, joshua's famous bowls, various paninis, fish & chips, my kids favorite kids menu, my favorite french fries and so much more.
The Blooms & Brews Cafe is also a favored choice in the area. It's a great spot for a breakfast and coffee to go and also offers quick lunch options. B&B's offers selections like the farmers breakfast and avocado toast, fresh baked goods daily, bagel sandwiches, paninis and wraps. Selections for Beer and Wine are offered to take home as well as local artisan goods such as hand sewn items, paintings, bows, earrings and potted plants!
Deerfield Leathers is where patrons go for a variety of leather goods. Whether you need a new belt or wallet or want some leather gloves or motorcycle gear, this shop has it all. Things to Do The Deerfield Parks and Recreation Department is a major player in the community. They help host events and manage the parks and green spaces within the area. At the town gazebo, in particular, you'll be able to enjoy concerts and other community events as well as go ice skating when the rink gets set up in the winter season. The Howard Swain Memorial Forest is a great option in town if you want to go for a hike and explore nature or Bear Brook State Park is right around the corner too.
Every October, the town hosts a yard sale for everyone to participate. Many homes do, and it's a simple yet fun way to get together with your neighbors and enjoy some leisure time as you stroll through town and see what's available.
The Deerfield Fairgrounds hosts the annual fair, as well as numerous livestock and horse shows throughout the season. With the title of the biggest fair in New Hampshire, you can be sure to have a good time at this yearly event. The Miss Deerfield Fair pageant is one show to watch, while numerous other activities go on throughout the few days this fair operates. A cattle pull, Woodsman's contest, juggling and comedy show, and live music performances are just a few possibilities.
